The issue date of a stamp dedicated to the 350
th anniversary of state shipbuilding in Russia is postponed until June 29, 2017. Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture an illustrated cover with the stamp, souvenir vignette dedicated to the history of national sailing fleet and first day cover with cancellation (Dedinovo, Moscow Oblast) inside.
Besides, dedicated to the Military Cathedral of Resurrection of Christ in Omsk is to be issued on June 30, 2017.
The Military Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ was built in 1769–1773 by brothers Kozma and Ivan Cherepanov. It emphasized the importance of the Omsk Fortress as a stronghold of the Orthodox culture in east Russia. It was designed by Lars Malm, an engineer of the Omsk Fortress.
The Cathedral of Resurrection of Christ was dismantled in 1958 but now it is restored as part of the preparation to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Omsk backed by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The cathedral has been one of the major spiritual centers of Omsk for 150 years.
Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture an illustrated cover with a block of four stamps and first day cover with cancellation (Omsk) inside.
