December 5, seminar Philately. Between Traditions and Modernity takes place in Nanning (China).

This is one of the last seminars carried out as part of the implementation of the development strategy of international philately that was agreed at the Universal Postal Congress in Doha. Representatives of the issue organizations from 14 countries take part in the congress. Asian International Philatelic Exhibition also takes place from 2 till 6 December in the Nanning National Exhibition Centre.

“During Doha Circle a great deal of work has been done and a lot has been achieved. Particularly, we improved WADP Numbering System’s and the World Association for the Development of Philately’s (WADP) work; we organized a large number of competitive classes and more than ten seminars. Most importantly, we managed to build a stable and well-balanced structure which effectively helps us in the fight against illegal issues and false stamps”, said Artem Adibekov, President of the World Association for the Development of Philately, Director General of FSUE “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre.

As noted by the participants, philately, despite more than a century history, is not only an expressive way to bring the history and achievements of the each country to the wider public, but it is also an activity which is subject to modern business processes. A variety of topics of postage stamps and the use of high-tech printing technologies, expanding the range of philatelic products and the development of sales channels allow to attract new audiences to the philately and increase sales volumes.
