September 29, an official cancellation ceremony of an artistic stamped envelope dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Russian Union of Veterans took place



The ceremony took place in Moscow today. Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency, and Army General Mikhail Moiseev, the Russian Union of Veterans Chairman, took part in the event.

The history of the university can be traced back to 29 September 1956, when the Soviet Committee of War Veterans was founded. The organization of front-line soldiers was created to strengthen relations with international and foreign national organizations countering war threats. The Russian Union of Veterans is a successor to the Soviet Committee of War Veterans continuing its traditions, banners, marks, flag and awards.

The artistic stamped envelope bears an emblem of the Russian Union of Veterans.



“Today’s event is very important for philately: an artistic stamped envelope dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Russian Union of Veterans has been released into the postal circulation. With a printrun of 2 million copies, the envelope will go on sale in all the post offices of our country, and Russian citizens will be used to send their mails within Russia and around the world”, said Mr. Dukhovnitskiy.
