July 16, an official cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp dedicated to Kislovodsk Sanatory Health Resort Park took place

Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; General Lieutenant of the Internal Service Sergey Melikov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North-Caucasus Federal District; Lev Kuznetsov, Minister for North Caucasus Affairs; Dmitry Pristanskov, Deputy Minister for Economic Development – Head of the Federal Agency for State Property Management; Murad Kerimov, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environment; Vladimir Vladimirov, Stavropol Krai Governor; and Dmitry Panyshev, Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency, took part in the event.

Kislovodsk, a resort of federal importance, has unique natural therapeutic resources — a salubrious climate, mineral springs, picturesque landscape, as well as diverse flora and fauna. Kislovodsk Sanatory Health Resort Park is the largest man-made site in the European part of Russia. The park comprises unique architectural, historical and cultural monuments, more than 250 species of local and exotic trees and bushes, as well as the famous Narzan mineral spring.

In 2015, the Kislovodsk Sanatory Health Resort Park complex was listed as a Cultural Heritage Object of Federal Importance.

The postage stamp features one of the Park’s cultural heritage objects, the Cascade Stairs.

“The stamp will be included in all international and Russian philatelic catalogs and will help promote the unique natural and cultural site both among Russians and abroad”, said Mr. Panyshev.
