An artistic stamp dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Field Marshal General Dmitry Milyutin was released into the postal circulation on 28 June 2016 becoming the 200th stamp designed by Vladimir Beltyukov, a miniature painter.
Vladimir Beltyukov is a member of the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, a member of the International Association of Drawing Artists, Salzburg International Philately Competition winner (2006) and a EUROPA 2015 international postage stamp competition winner.
Vladimir Beltyukov finished the Kazan Art School with honors and then the Stroganov Art School. His artistic career began in
Izobrazitelnoye iskusstvo (“Fine Arts”) publishing house; then he worked in
Plakat (“Poster”) publishing house of the CPSU Central Committee for 13 years eventually becoming the main artist. Later, he worked in
Vokrug sveta (“Around the World”) magazine and
Pushkinskaya ploschad (“Pushkin Square”) publishing house in similar positions. He was the main artist of the USSR team in 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow; he also made many illustrations for children's books.
Vladimir Beltyukov has been fond of philately and stamp collecting since childhood but his first profession was a greeting card artist, which he has drawn more than 250 for this time. He created his first postage stamp dedicated to the 175th birth anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1981. Since then, Vladimir Beltyukov has been working as a full-time artist in FSUE PTC "Marka" being an author of many postal miniatures of historical, cultural and patriotic themes. His works are distinguished by their fine artistic taste, a special flair, multiple topics and thorough elaboration of details, large scale and exact historical authenticity, and polyhistory.
"Not everyone can work with postal miniature. The most important thing is to truly love a stamp and not to be afraid of a hard work. Only then the stamp will accept you but it will not be easy", Mr. Beltyukov thinks.
FSUE PTC “Marka” executives congratulate Vladimir Beltyukov with his anniversary stamp and wish him further success and new philatelic masterpieces!
