June 2, Artyom Adibekov, the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) President, FSUE PTC “Marka” Director General, and Yukio Takasu, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Management, open the World Philatelic Forum in the UN Headquarters in New York.
As Mr. Takasu noted, the UN lays emphasis to the world philately and provides any assistance possible in introducing innovations to develop philatelic market.
Representatives of stamp issuing authorities from more than 30 countries took part in the forum.
Many conferences, round tables, workshops and competition classes have been held for the 2013–2016 cycle of the Russian Federation presidency.
The WNS, one of the principal directions in the WADP activity deserves special focus as it has proven its efficiency in fight against illegal stamps all around the world.
The WADP must share information on all aspects of its activity, train personnel to use innovations in postage stamp issues, use new technologies in stamps production and distribution, as well as to promote philately among the general public.
