May 26, an official cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp dedicated to Rosa Khutor mountain resort took place

The event was held at the Rosa Pik viewing point 2,320 m above the sea level. Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency, and Sergey Bachin, Rosa Khutor Director General, took part in the event.

Rosa Khutor is a year-round mountain resort in Krasnaya Polyana in the Adler District of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, and the largest venue of the XXII Olympic Games and XI Paralympic Games 2014. World Ski Awards named Rosa Khutor the best mountain ski complex three times — in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

In summer, Rosa Khutor’s unique location allows its customers to combine mountain and sea recreation. The resort has its own beach on the Black Sea shore and another Rosa Beach Complex boasting two swimming pools with clear mountain water.

The postage stamp features the central square complex of Rosa Khutor and the Town Hall building, one of the resort’s landmarks, against the background depicting the mountains.

“The stamp subject graphically illustrates the beautiful mountain scene of Krasnodar Krai and the resort’s developed infrastructure. The stamp will promote the Russia resorts among Russian citizens, as well as abroad, and help attract visitors to Sochi”, said Mr. Dukhovnitskiy.

Additionally, FSUE PTC “Marka” has manufactured an illustrated cover with the stamp and first day covers with cancellations (Moscow) inside.
