On 9 February 2016, Management Committee of the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) has met in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Bureau as part of the 2013–2016 cycle chaired by the Russian Federation.
Representatives of postal administrations of Burundi, Finland, India, Italy, Morocco, Russia, Senegal and Tunisia take part in the meeting.
It is the fourth time the Russian Federation chairs the meeting. Extensive work to develop international philately has been done — three competition classes for issuing postal administration of UPU member-countries and their territories, as well as a round table on postal stationery, training workshops for Asia-Pacific countries, Arabian states, ECOWAS member-countries and European and CIS members have been held.
Such important questions as 2017–2020 Istanbul Business Plan work proposals on philately, international reply coupons, draft amendments of the Philatelic Code of Ethics for use by the UPU member countries and of article 8 of the UPU Convention are being discussed at the moment.
