October 14, a cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture was held

The event was attended by Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow Mayor; Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency; Galina Malanicheva, Chairman of the Central Council of All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture. The ceremony was held as a part of the opening of “Denkmal-2015”, the international specialized exhibition for the conservation, restoration, use and promotion of cultural heritage. The exhibition is taking place on the territory of Exhibition Center from 14 to 16 October 2015.



“Through the philatelic products, we strive to keep a huge reservoir of our culture to talk about the important historical events and achievements of our country. With this issue we open a large philatelic program, dedicated to the history and culture of our capital”, - said Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency.



The All-Russian Society for Historic Preservation and Cultural Organization was organized by the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR July 23, 1965 in order to attract the general public to actively participate in the protection of historical and cultural monuments. It is saved more than 3,000 material and spiritual masterpieces, including the manor complexes, religious shrines, which are an invaluable heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation and the foundation of Russian culture and traditions.

Particular attention was paid to the restoration of churches, chapels and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church and other faiths religious sites. The All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture make the state historical and cultural expertise on a permanent basis from January 2011.

The stamp depicts a collage of monuments restored with the support of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture:

- Ivangorod fortress;
- Monument to Peter I by Mark M. Antokolsky, sculptor;
- Farmstead “Kulikovo Field”.
