September 24, it was held a cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp dedicated to the Russian nuclear industry

The event was attended by Sergey Kirilenko, Director General of “Rosatom” State Corporation and Dmitry Panyshev, Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency.



The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre supervised by the Federal Communications Agency issued a stamp dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry. The stamp depicts Rosatom, a systemically important company against the background of industrial objects silhouettes: an icebreaker, nuclear power plant and a tomographic scanner.



Nowadays, State Corporation “Rosatom” is the largest generating company in Russia. It ranked the 2nd place in the world in uranium reserves and the 3rd place in the volume of uranium mining; the 2nd place in the world for nuclear power generation, providing 36% of the world uranium enrichment services and 17% of the market of nuclear fuel.

Dmitry Panyshev, Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency, congratulated employees and noted that “now the image of the Russian nuclear industry entered into the history of philately. The stamp could be used for sending a correspondence, as well as become a part of the Russian and international philatelic collections and directories”.
