Stamps dedicated to uniform jackets of railway transport officials were presented at EXPO 1520

An official cancellation ceremony of four postage stamps depicting uniform jackets of railway transport officials took place as part of the Fifth International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520 on 2 September in Moscow. Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency Vladimir Shelikhov, the First Vice-President of JSC Russian Railways Vadim Morozov and CEO of Business Dialog LLC Anatoly Kitsura.



“Federal Communications Agency and Russian Railways are united by a longstanding fruitful cooperation. Last year we were cancelling together a souvenir sheet dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Baikal-Amur Mainline. Today, we are going to perpetuate the history of Russian uniform of railway transport officials using philatelic products”, the Rossvyaz Deputy Head said in his welcome speech.



The Russian Railways management thanked the Federal Communications Agency for perpetuating images of railway personnel on state signs of postal payment.



The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre supervised by the Federal Communications Agency has issued the postage stamps as part of the History of Russian Uniform series. The four stamps reflect the history of emergence and development of railway uniform according to the social and economical changes the society has been undergoing. The stamps depict a general and a conductor of Communication Lines Administration (1843), an engineering foreman and a locomotive driver 2nd class (1952), a superintendent and a conductor (1979), and a contemporary trainmaster and a passenger carriage conductor.

  

  

The stamps circulation is 1,152,000 (288,000 on each subject).
The designer is Sergey Ulianovsky.

The first stamps of the History of Russian Uniform series were issued in 2013 and were dedicated to uniform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; in 2014 they were dedicated to outfits of communication industry employees. Four postage stamps depicting uniform jackets of Russian diplomatic service officials are to be issued in 2016.
