September 4, TASS press centre, a cancellation ceremony was held of a postal card with a commemorative stamp “The Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS)”.

The participants of the ceremony were Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz); Alexey Volin, Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation;  Sergey Mikhailov, Director General, TASS; and Dmitry Strashnov, Director, FSUE “Russian Post”.

In his welcome speech Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of Rossvayz said, "These days the largest information agency is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Over many years ITAR-TASS has been the main source of information in this country. At all times under any conditions the TASS reporters have performed their professional duties delivering adequate and reliable information. Today the agency keeps setting the example of high-quality effective performance confirming the status of one of the world’s leading news media. It is undoubtedly a world-famous brand."

At the press conference Sergey Mikhailov spoke about the TASS achievements and future plans.

A special souvenir postmark has been produced with the TASS new logotype.
