Postage stamps “Bombers. To the 125th Anniversary of the Birth of A. N. Tupolev” are issued by FSUE PTC “Marka” acting under the jurisdiction of the Federal Communications Agency.




Issue date: August 13, 2013.

In the 1920s Andrei Nikolayevich Tupolev created the experimental design bureau of aviation, which was looking out for the latest achievements in aeronautical science and engineering while creating their aircraft. The company has produced dozens of types of experimental and production aircraft, which took to the skies in the 20th century, as well as hundreds of original projects, which often were unparalleled among domestic and international aircraft. In many respects, they anticipated plenty of the basic directions of aviation development both in Russia and worldwide.

The postage stamp depicts bombers Tu-2, TB-7, Tu-16, Tu-22M3 and Tu-95.

An illustrated cover containing the stamp sheet and First Day Covers with cancellations and an envelope  of the Russian Federation, as well as a stamp and a First Day Cover with cancellation of the Åland Islands is prepared for the issue.
