The exhibit of the State marks of the postal payment of the Russian Federation has received a high award at the IX International competitional class for issuing postal administrations of the UPU member countries and their territories.

The exhibit of the postage stamps of the Russian Federation represented by the FSUE the printing and publishing center “Marka” was awarded with silver medal at the IX International competitional class for issuing postal administrations.

The gold and bronze medals were awarded to the Post of Hungary and to h Post of Romania accordingly. The competition class held during the work of the 25th Congress of the Universal Postal Union in Doha (Qatar). 

The exhibit of the marks of the postal payment of the Russian Federation “Short philatelic dictionary 2008-2012” represents a stylized book – an album for postage stamps on the opened pages of which are placed postage stamps, pre-stamped envelopes and cards, booklets issued in 2008-2012 in the alphabetical order.

All marks of postal payment are accompanied with technical and thematical information (in English). The best philatelic materials selected for the exposition were allowed to show thematical and narrative diversity, social orientation and importance of the issued production as well as high designer and polygraphic quality. 

27 postal administrations of: Armenia, Bahrain, Belorussia, Vatican, Hungary, Denmark, Iran, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, PRC, Kirgizstan, Colombia, Malta, Morocco, Monaco, Netherlands (Aruba),  United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, France took part in the international competition held within the framework of the 25th Congress of the Universal Postal Union.

 

For disposition of exhibits all the participants have received two expositional showcases full volume of which was 32 sheets of the size A3.

International competitional class for the issuing postal administrations of the UPU member countries and their territories was established in 2008 and offers the possibility to the postal issuing administrations to show the exposition which contains postage stamps and other philatelic production (souvenir sheet, sheet of stamp, booklets, postal stationeries and etc.). The regulation of the carrying out of the competition is developed by the Universal Postal Union together with the International federation of the philately. The aim of the competition is to show the innovations in the issuing technology of the postage stamps, to represent new form of issues used for development of philately and for maintenance of public’s interest in the collecting of the postage stamps. Only postal administrations of member countries of the UPU registered in World Numbering system (WNS) of the World Association for Development of Philately (WADF), could participate in such competitions. Such meetings have been held in Italy (Rome), China (Luoyang, Wuxi), Portugal (Lisbon), Romania (Bucharest), France (Paris), Switzerland (Bern).
