Andrey Khrulev (1892-1962) was a Soviet military leader and statesman, Army General (1943), a specialist in the military logistics, the Head of the Logistics of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
A. Khrulev was a developer of the modern concept of logistics, which envisaged combining the traditional commissariat (clothing and food supply), material and technical support, financing, military construction, military communications (rail transport), military medical service, fuel supply, automotive, road, administrative and economic departments, apartment management, veterinary department, reception and storage of material and technical assets, etc., into a unified Logistics System of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
Under A. Khrulev's direct leadership, the uniform and many awards were designed, including the Orders of the Patriotic War, of Victory, of Glory, of Suvorov and of Kutuzov, etc. He was also actively involved in the rehabilitation of victims of Stalin’s purges and helped the families of the purged.
