"New Wave" is the annual international contest of young performers of popular music. From 2002 to 2014 it was held in Jurmala, the Latvian resort, since 2015 the contest has been held in Sochi, the Krasnodar Territory.
This music contest gives an opportunity find new young talented artists. For years the heads of various states gave high assessment to this international music event. Every year, on the day of the opening ceremony of the “New Wave”, texts of welcome telegrams from presidents of Russia, CIS and Baltic countries, Europe and many others are heard from the stage. In 2017, “New Wave” will place its concert venue in the Olympic Park and the contest will be held there from 8 to 14 September.
