Zinovy Efimovich Gerdt (1916–1996) was a Soviet and Russian theatre and cinema actor, recognized with the title People's Artist of the USSR (1990), a participant of the Great Patriotic war.
In cinematography, he was primarily a voice actor and he was behind the scenes for a long time. He gained the recognition of the audience after his important roles of Kukushkin in the film The Conjurer and Panikovsky in the screen version of Ilf and Petrov’s novel The Little Golden Calf (1968). Then the actor starred in the films The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed (1979), Mary Poppins, Goodbye (1983), The Government Inspector (1996) and etc.
Since 1962 he hosted many television programmes.
In 1996 Zinovy Gerdt was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland 3rd class. In the same year he was granted the award of the Sochi Open Russian Film Festival Kinotavr in nomination “The Prize of the Presidential Council for the creative career”.
An original stamp depicts a portrait of Zinovy Gerdt. The main image features a scene from the film The Conjurer (Mosfilm, 1967).
