The Golden Ring of Russia is a tourist route that unites ancient cities of North-Eastern Russia: Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Sergiev Posad, Suzdal, Uglich, and Yaroslavl. All of them have retained unique monuments of architecture, history and culture.

Suzdal was first mentioned in chronicles in 1024. In the 13th century, it became the center of the Vladimir-Suzdal Principality and became famous for its crafts: currying, jewelry manufacturing and a lot more. In the 14th century, the city was captured by Tver, but soon after it became part of the Grand Duchy of Moscow and became one of the centers of Orthodox Christianity.

Today, Suzdal is a city reserve in the Vladimir Region. In 1992, its magnificent architectural monuments were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The most famous sights are the ensembles of the Kremlin, the Intercession Convent, the Monastery of Deposition of the Robe and the Monastery of the Savior and St. Euthimius.

The postage stamp provides images of the Resurrection Church and trade malls, the St. Nickolas Church from the village of Glotovo (Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve), the Church of Elijah the Prophet, the obelisk of the Vladimir outpost at the entrance to the city, and a fire watchtower.
