The history of Russian caterpillar tractors dates back to the late 19th century when peasant F.A. Blinov invented a tracked steam machine. In the 20th century, attention to the domestic engineering and production of tracked vehicles acquired strategic significance for the country, hence large-scale production was launched. The chief mass-produced models were C-60 Stalinets, SHTZ-NATI, DT-54, DT-75. They were an embodiment of advanced engineering and technical solutions. Contemporary track-mounted tractors, such as TT-4M, AGROMASH-Ruslan, or Chetra T-40, are powerful high-performance complexes designated for performance of a full range of operations on all types of soil in any climatic zone.

The postal stamp provides image of the tractor designed by F.A. Blinov (1896).
