Aeromodelling is a technical sport discipline where participants not only design model aircraft but also compete in their ability to control them.
Within the sport, there are several main disciplines:
- free flying models;
- control line models;
- radio-controlled models;
- rocket modelling; and
- drone aircraft racing (FPV races).
The postage stamp features athletes with models from different periods in the development of aeromodelling: a free flying sailplane of the mid‑20th century, a control line “air combat” model, and a radio-controlled replica model.
