Traditionally, issues of postage stamps are dedicated to famous artists, architects, sculptors, their artworks and various trends in art. In 2025, on the eve of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the stamps feature works of art dedicated to this memorable event.
Andrey Kovalchuk was born on September 7 of 1959 in Moscow. A Soviet and Russian sculptor, a tutor, a professor. Since 2009, he has been the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Russia. A People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2003). A winner of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2007) and the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation (2005).
Boris Nemensky was born on December 24 of 1922 in Moscow. A painter, a tutor, a professor. An Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR (1991; a corresponding member since 1982). An Academician of the Academy of Arts (2007; a corresponding member since 2001), a People's Artist of the RSFSR (1986),a winner of the Stalin Prize of the 3rd class (1951), the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1997) and the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of education (2003). A participant in the Great Patriotic War.
Vasily Nesterenko was born on February 28 of 1967 in Pavlograd (Dnepropetrovsk Region, USSR). A painter who became famous for his paintings on the subject of Russian history and Christian religiosity. An Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2007; a corresponding member since 2001). A People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2004). A member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1995.
Zurab Tsereteli was born on January 4 of 1934 in Tiflis (currently Tbilisi). A muralist, a sculptor, a painter, a tutor. Since 1997, he has been the President of the Russian Academy of Arts. A Hero of Socialist Labor (1990), a People's Artist of the USSR (1980), a People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1994), a winner of the Lenin Prize (1976), two State Prizes of the USSR (1970, 1982) and the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1996). A Cavalier of the Order of Lenin (1990). A Full Cavalier of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland. The author of more than 5,000 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, monumental and decorative art.
Salavat Shcherbakov was born on January 15 of 1955 in Moscow. A sculptor, a tutor, a professor. An Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012; a corresponding member since 1995). A People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2011). A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1980. The author of more than 40 monumental compositions.
