Uniforms and insignia of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army changed every few years, adapting themselves to the current demands and requirements of the time.
On March 23, 1944, Order No. 138 of the People's Commissariat of the Navy enacted the uniform for the USSR Navy Marines. It was subdivided into daily and field uniforms, as well as summer and winter uniforms. The field uniforms of the Marines corresponded to the uniform of the land forces of the Red Army, while the everyday uniform corresponded to the uniforms of the USSR Navy. On August 5, 1944, there were changes and additions to the uniforms and supply standards for women service personnel.
The postage stamps provide images of soldiers in the 1944 uniform: a shell carrier and a howitzer battery commander, a marine soldier and a machine gunner, a rifle platoon commander and an automatic rifleman, a crew commander and a tank driver.
