The State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (prior to 1998, the Museum of Revolution) is a unique cultural heritage site of federal significance, one of the largest centers for the preservation, study and presentation of the history of Russia from the second half of the 19th century to the early 21st century. It was instituted by the Resolution of the Central Executive Committee on May 9, 1924.
At present time, the museum offers a new, high-tech museum display combining unique artefacts and modern multimedia technologies. The Museum of Contemporary History of Russia is the only museum in the country presenting the Contemporary Russian History.
The museum is a dynamically developing discussion, scientific, educational and enlightening platform, where topical issues of recent history and modern times are under debate.
