The N. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) occupies the location of unique natural forest areas on the territory of Moscow: the Ostankino Oak Grove and the Leonovsky Forest. April 14, 1945, is considered the official date of the Garden foundation.
The N. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the RAS has the richest collections of plants representing the diverse flora of almost all continents and climatic zones of the globe. The central objective of the activities of the N. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the RAS is to conduct fundamental scientific research and tackle applied tasks in the field of experimental botany.
