German P. Karakozov (1926–1992) was an outstanding investigative officer of the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR, State Councilor of Justice 2nd Class, an Honored Lawyer of the RSFSR. While working in the position of the Head of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR, German P. Karakozov developed and organized the investigation of criminal cases of bribery and abuse of office committed by senior Party and Soviet officials.
