Guerrilla warfare is an integral part of any lingering war conflict.
The guerrilla movement covered the majority of civilians resident in the occupied territories and became an important driver of the Soviet armed resistance to the German Army during World War II. Guerrillas inflicted huge losses on the enemy and demoralized and contained its forces, disrupted food and ammunition supplies and destroyed the German army’s infrastructure.
The postage stamp shows a bas-relief featuring partisans among whom elderly people, women and children.
