Orekhovo-Zuyevo is one of the largest cities in Moscow Oblast. It was founded in 1917. The coat of arms of the city district of Orekhovo-Zuyevo is based on the coat of arms of the of Orekhovo-Zuyevo approved by a Regulation of the Head of the Administration of Orekhovo-Zuyevo No 1784 of 29.12.1997. The red color symbolizes the Morozov Strike of 1885. It was the largest outbreak of Russian workers in the 19th century. A thin blue line repeating a white stripe outline symbolizes the Klyazma, which divides the town into Orekhovo and Zuyevo. A branch of hazelwood with two nuts symbolizes Orekhovo. The charadrius represents Zuyevo.
