The All-Russian Society for Historic Preservation and Cultural Organization was organized by the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR July 23, 1965 in order to attract the general public to actively participate in the protection of historical and cultural monuments.
The society was directly involved in the creation of museums-reserves. The funds were allocated for “Spasskoye-Lutovinovo” and “Konstantinovo” literary-memorial museums-reserves located in Orlov and Ryazan regions, for a museum of wooden architecture located in Khokhlovka village, Perm region, for “Malye Korely” in Arkhangelsk, for “Vitoslavlitsy” in Veliky Novgorod and Suzdal. Particular attention was paid to the restoration of churches, chapels and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church and other faiths religious sites.
The stamp depicts a collage of monuments restored with the support of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture:
- Ivangorod fortress;
- Monument to Peter I by Mark M. Antokolsky, sculptor;
- Farmstead “Kulikovo Field”.
