Bobsleigh is a downhill on special tracks with an artificial freezing of ice utilizing controlled sleighs. The Olympic program includes three types of competition: men in teams of two and in teams of four, and women in teams of two.

Nordic combined comprises a ski jump and a ski race for 10 km. The Nordic combined Olympic program for men includes three types of competitions: an individual championship with a jump from an average springboard, an individual championship with a jump from a large springboard and a team championship (two jumps from a large springboard for each participant and 4x5 km relay).

Figure skating is the oldest event in the Olympic Games. The first figure skating competition within the framework of the Olympic Games program took place back in 1908. Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics includes the following figure skating competitions: individual competitions for men and women, competitions in the pair figure skating, ice dancing and team competitions.
