Admiralty is one of the masterpieces of Saint-Petersburg architecture, the monument of Russian classicism. The ship on its steeple is one of the symbols of the city along with the Copper Rideman and Palace Bridge.
It is supposed that the prototype of the ship is the first Russian vessel – frigate “Eagle”, built according to the order of tsar Alexey Mikhailovich in 1667-1669.
