Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed an edict on establishing of a "Russian drama theatre" 250 years ago (in 1756). This edict initiated the development of Russian state theatre. The Russian State academic drama theatre named by A.S. Poushkin (Alexandrijsky theatre) in St. Petersburg and State academic Maliy theatre in Moscow keep their chronology from this date. The buildings of Maliy and Alexandrinsky theatres are depicted on the margins of the block.
