During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 N.D.Psurtsev was the commander of the signal corps of the western front (1941-1944). In 1944-1946 he was the alternate of the commander of the signal corps of the Soviet Army. In 1946-1948 he served in the General Staff of the Military Forces of the USSR. In 1948-1975 N.D.Psurtsev was the USSR Telecommunications Minister. The stamp also features the Central Telegraph building in Moscow erected in 1925-1927, the Ostankinskaya television tower and a space-communication satellite "Molniya" (the series of the satellites was developed in 1965).
