The first specialized investigating authorities in Russia were the “major” offices, which came to the force in the 1710s in the framework of a campaign launched to check the financial abuse of high-ranking officials.
In 2013, the history of modern work clothing for Investigative Committee officers began in compliance with awarded special ranks.
The uniform is furnished with state and departmental awards, shoulder rank insignia, etc.
The postal stamps provide images of the following:
— assessor and court-martial chairman of the investigative office (1713);
— special investigator and district court investigator (1898);
— special investigator and investigator of the Public Prosecutor’s service of the USSR (1954);
— investigator of the Investigative Committee at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Head of the Investigative Committee at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the RF (2011).
