Alexander Klubov totally flew 457 sorties in the course of the war. He took down 31 enemy planes personally and 19 in a fighter group. In April 1944 Alexander Klubov was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet’s decree.

Alexander Klubov was killed on 1 November 1944 at the Turna front-line airfield in Poland while landing after a training flight on a La-7 brand new fighter. In 1945 Alexander Klubove, a guard captain, was posthumously awarded the second Gold Star medal.
