Konstantin Dmitriyevich Balmont (1867–1942) was a Russian poet and novelist, a literature critic, and translator. He was one of the major figures of the Silver Age of Russian Poetry. The writer authored 35 poem collections, 20 books of prose, and large number of translations from various languages (William Blake, Edgar Allan Poe, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Oscar Wilde, Gerhart Hauptmann, Charles Baudelaire, Hermann Sudermann, etc).
