Central Studio of Children's and Youth Films named after M. Gorky is one of the oldest and largest studios in Russia.

The history of the studio began in 1915 when M. Trofimov, a merchant from Kostroma, created an atelier “Rus”. Over the years the studio has released more than a thousand films, including such outstanding works as “Mother” by Vsevolod Pudovkin, “Road to Life” by Nikolai Ekk, “The House I Live In” by Lev Kulidzhanov and Yakov Segel, “And Quiet Flows the Don” by Sergei Gerasimov, “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” by Stanislav Rostotsky, “Seventeen Moments of Spring” by Tatyana Lioznova and many other films that are included in the golden fund of Russian and World cinema.

An EWCS depicts the building of the studio and movie posters to films released by Gorky Film Studio in various years.
