Nikolai Kozlov (1926–1983) was a military commander, a Hero of the Soviet Union (1944).

He was born on December 12, 1926, in the village of Nefedkino of the Pokhvistnevsky District in the Samara Province. He did military service in the Red Army since September of 1942. N. Kozlov finished the accelerated course of the 1st Kharkov Stalin Tank School in Chirchik. In June of 1943, he graduated as a junior lieutenant and was appointed platoon commander of the 110th Tank Brigade of the 18th Tank Corps of the 5th Guards Tank Army. He took part in the battles on the Kursk Salient, in the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky and Jassy-Kishinev military operations and in the defeat of the enemy near Budapest

In 1946 and in 1961, he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Officer Armored School and the Military Academy of Armored Forces, accordingly. He occupied various command positions in the Soviet Army.

Nikolai Kozlov devoted his entire life to the service of the Motherland: his last position as Lieutenant General was the Head of the Krasnodar Military Order of the October Revolution Red Banner Academy named after Army General S.M. Shtemenko.
