The All-Russian Society for Nature Protection (VOOP) is an all-Russian noncommercial and culturally educational environmental organization. It was founded in 1924. The idea of institution of the Society was approved by A. Lunacharsky, N. Krupskaya and M. Pokrovsky. The first Chairman of the Society was zoologist, Professor G. Kozhevnikov.
The aims and objectives of the VOOP are to maintain a healthy and favorable ecological situation in the country, to take measures for environmentally safe and sustainable development of the country, to protect the environment and preserve the species diversity of flora and fauna, to preserve and promote the health of the people of the country.
The postage stamps provide images of a gyrfalcon, a carpenter bee, a Black Sea bottlenose dolphin, and a polar wolf.
