The Sklifosovsky Institute is the largest multi-speciality scientific and practical center for emergency and elective care in Russia and the only multi-speciality emergency hospital in Moscow dealing with the problems of emergency surgery, intensive care, concomitant and burning injuries, emergency cardiology and acute poisoning.
The structure of the Institute comprises 30 scientific and 80 clinical departments. About 70 thousand patients receive high-tech medical care in the clinic every year.
The high scientific and practical potential of the staff and up-to-date equipment make it possible to successfully develop new and improve existing diagnostic and treatment methods for emergency conditions, which permits the personnel to treat patients with the most severe and complicated acute surgical diseases and injuries, to consult and transfer patients from other medical institutions to the Institute for treatment.
