Every year on December 5, a Volunteer Day is celebrated in Russia.
Volunteers are people who are willfully involved in charitable activities without getting money or financial benefit. They are ready to sacrifice their time, effort and skills to help those in need, to support social and environmental initiatives, and contribute to public welfare. The movement of volunteer organizations in Russia began to develop rapidly in the early 1990s.
The postage stamp features a symbolic heart with images characterizing areas of volunteer activities inside it.

December 8, 2024, will mark the 25th Anniversary of signing the Treaty on the Creation of a Union State.
In January of 2000, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin exchanged instruments of ratification, and from that moment, the most important interstate document came into effect.
The goals proclaimed by the Union Treaty, such as the development of fraternal peoples, building of a common economic space, observation of the rights and freedoms of citizens, pursuing a coordinated foreign, defense and social policy, combating terrorist danger, serve as a testimony of the creation of a new type of interstate association, where large-scale integration work is combined with the sovereign equality of the member states.

New series Treasures of Russian Museums begins with the issue of a stamp dedicated to the State Hermitage Museum.
The State Hermitage Museum is a Russian state art and cultural-historical museum in St. Petersburg, one of the world's largest institutions of its kind. The Picture Gallery of the Imperial Hermitage originated in 1764 as a private collection of Catherine II.
The main museum complex of the Hermitage is located in the historical center of St. Petersburg and includes several interconnected buildings - the Winter Palace, the Spare House of the Winter Palace, the Small Hermitage, the Bolshoi (Old) Hermitage, the New Hermitage and the Hermitage Theater. There are 365 rooms open to the public. The Grand Kremlin Palace is one of the Moscow Kremlin palaces. It was constructed in 1838−1849 by order of Emperor Nicholas I of Russia by famous architect from St Petersburg K. Thon. The Palace serves as the ceremonial residence of the head of state.
The five reception halls on the first floor of the Palace – the Halls of the Orders of St. Andrew, of St. Alexander, of St. George, of St. Vladimir and of St. Catherine - are dedicated to Russian orders with their elements embedded in the stucco decoration of each hall.
Presently, the Grand Kremlin Palace is the venue for the most ceremonial events of national importance.

On December 12, a postage stamp dedicated to Nikolai Kozlov, a military commander, a Hero of the Soviet Union, will go into postal circulation
Nikolai Kozlov (1926–1983) was a military commander, a Hero of the Soviet Union (1944).
He was born on December 12, 1926, in the village of Nefedkino of the Pokhvistnevsky District in the Samara Province. He did military service in the Red Army since September of 1942. N. Kozlov finished the accelerated course of the 1st Kharkov Stalin Tank School in Chirchik. In June of 1943, he graduated as a junior lieutenant and was appointed platoon commander of the 110th Tank Brigade of the 18th Tank Corps of the 5th Guards Tank Army. He took part in the battles on the Kursk Salient, in the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky and Jassy-Kishinev military operations and in the defeat of the enemy near Budapest
In 1946 and in 1961, he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Officer Armored School and the Military Academy of Armored Forces, accordingly. He occupied various command positions in the Soviet Army.
Nikolai Kozlov devoted his entire life to the service of the Motherland: his last position as Lieutenant General was the Head of the Krasnodar Military Order of the October Revolution Red Banner Tank Academy named after Army General S.M. Shtemenko.

On December 12, a souvenir sheet dedicated to the 500th Anniversary of the Novodevichy Convent will go into postal circulation in the UNESCO World Heritage series
The Novodevichy Stavropigial Convent in Moscow is one of the largest convents in Russia. It was founded in 1524 by Vasily III, the Grand Duke of Vladimir and Moscow in honor of the Smolensk icon of the Mother of God Hodegetria after the return of the ancient Russian city of Smolensk to the Russian lands from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The entire Convent complex is represented by 14 buildings, 8 of which are churches, and the remaining 6 are residential and household buildings. The castellation fortress walls and towers were built in the late 16th century under Boris Godunov; in the 17th century, the towers were decorated with magnificent tracery crowns.
To date, the total length of the walls is 870 meters. The architectural ensemble of the Convent that took shape in the 16th-17th centuries underwent no significant changes. As an exceptionally well-preserved example of the Moscow Baroque, it has been placed under UNESCO protection and declared the treasure of all humankind.
