On February 27, two stamps dedicated to the 200th Anniversary of Sergei M. Solovyov and Ivan E. Zabelin will go into postal circulation in the Celebrated Historians of Russia series



Sergey Mikhaylovich Solovyov (1820−1879) was a historian, Professor and the Rector of the Moscow University, Academician of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, privy councilor. 

Ivan Egorovich Zabelin (1820−1908) was a historian, archeologist, corresponding member of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, privy councilor, collector. 

The postal stamps provide portraits of Sergei Solovyov against his book History of Russia since Ancient Times and of Ivan Zabelin against his book Minin and Pozharsky. Straight and Curved Lines in the Time of Troubles.

In addition to the emission of the postal stamps, JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tver.

Face value: 40 rubles per each stamp.
Stamp size: 50×37 mm, sheet size: 180×188 mm.
Form of issue: sheet with illustrated margins of 8 (3×4) stamps and coupons.
