On January 23, a postal block dedicated to the Ruskeala Mountain Park timed to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Karelia will go into postal circulation

The Ruskeala mountain park is a tourism complex located in the Sortavala region of Karelia on the bank of the Tokhmayoki River. A basis of the complex is a cultural heritage object, a monument of history — a former marble quarry filled with ground waters. The quarry is 460 m long and up to 100 m wide. The distance from the topmost point of the quarry slope to its bottom makes more than 50 meters. The water transparency is 15–18 m.

The postal block provides images of the Ruskeala mountain park panorama and the logo of the Republic of Karelia Centenary celebration.

In addition to the emission of the postal block, the JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk and Ruskeala of the Republic of Karelia as well as an illustrated envelope and a maximum card will be published.
