July 9 a stamp dedicated to the International System of Units will be issued

The international system of units is the international decimal system of units. The main difference of the metric system from those used previously is that it uses an ordered set of units of measurement. This means that any physical quantity is characterized by some main unit, and all units are divided and multiples are formed according to a single standard, namely , using decimal prefixes.

Introduction of this system of measures eliminated the inconvenience that previously resulted in the abundance of various units of measurement, which have quite complex transformation rights among themselves.

The postage stamp depicts an ammeter, a measuring tape, a stopwatch and a platinum-iridium cylinder under a glass bell.

In addition to the issue of postage stamps, JSC "Marka" has issued a first day cover and manufactured a special cancellation postmark for Moscow.
