Boris Schukin (1894–1939) was a well-known theater and film actor, teacher, and the Honored Artist of the USSR.
Schukin was one of major followers of the Soviet realistic school who combined comic and dramatic elements in his art. He was one of the first Soviet actors that embodied image of Vladimir Lenin on stage and in films and shaped the tradition of playing this role.
The original stamp shows theater symbols: a curtain, masks, and lyre; the main picture shows the portrait of Boris Schukin and a scene from the theater play where he played Vladimir Lenin.
In addition to issue of the postcard and the original stamp, Marka JSC will produce a special cancellation postmark for Moscow.
