February 22, two postage stamps dedicated to the Oleg Tereshkin and Roman Kitanin to be put into circulation in the “Heroes of the Russian Federation” series



Oleg Viktorovich Tereshkin (1971–1995) - deputy commander of a special-purpose platoon “Rosich” of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, warrant officer, Hero of the Russian Federation.

By decree of the President of the Russian Federation of July 20, 1996, Ensign Tereshkin Oleg Viktorovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for his courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty in the North Caucasus region of Russia (posthumously).



Roman A. Kitanin (1978–2007) - Chief of Intelligence of a separate battalion of the North Caucasus District of the Russian Interior Ministry Troops, major, Hero of the Russian Federation.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 7, 2007, for the courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty in the North Caucasus region of Russia, Major Kitanin Roman Aleksandrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously).

The postage stamps depict portraits of Heroes of the Russian Federation and the Gold Star medal.

In addition to the issue of postage stamps of JSC “Marka”, envelopes of the first day will be issued and special cancellation stamps will be made for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
