Boris Vladimirovich Zakhoder (1918–2000) - Soviet and Russian children's writer, poet and translator, screenwriter. Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1999), member of the Writers' Union.
In 1958, his retelling of the tale of the English writer A. Milne "Winnie the Pooh" was published in the magazine "Murzilka". In the period of 1950–1980s, Zakhoder’s poetry collections were published: “At the back row” (1955), “If they give me a boat” (1981), etc.
B. Zakhoder was most famous for his translations and retellings of children's fairy tales: “Mary Poppins” P. Travers (1968), “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” by L. Carroll (1971–1972), the fairy tales of C. Chapek, and the Brothers Grimm (“The Bremen Musicians , 1982, and others.), The play by D.M. Barry "Peter Pan" (1967). Poems and fairy tales of the writer translated into many languages of the world and published in England, USA, Australia, Germany, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia.
