An overprinted stamp dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the United Nations operation in Russia to be issued on June 14



The United Nations is an international organization created to maintain and promote world peace and safety, as well as international cooperation. It was established in 1945 and now has 193 member states. The USSR was one of the founding countries of the organization and its member since its inception.

In 2018, the 70th anniversary of the United Nations operation in Russia is celebrated. The first UN agency in Russia was the UN Information Centre, which opened in Moscow in 1948. The majority of UN agencies currently operating in the country opened their missions in the early 1990s.

The stamp depicts a logotype of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations against the background of the UN Headquarters and an overprint of new denomination.
