Dmitry Evgenyevich Gorshkov (1971–1999) was a police senior lieutenant, Hero of the Russian Federation.
By the RF Presidential Decree of 30 December 1999 for “his courage and heroism shown in the abolition of illegal armed groups in the North Caucasus Region”, Police Senior Lieutenant Dmitry Gorshkov was awarded the high title of the Hero of the Russian Federation.
The postage stamp depicts Dmitry Gorshkov’s portrait and the Gold Star medal.
In addition to the release of the postage stamp, JSC Marka is to produce an FDC and first day cancellation postmarks for Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
