March 28, a souvenir sheet dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of A.M. Gorky (1868–1936), a writer, is to be released into circulation



Maxim Gorky (Alexei Maximovich Gorky, born Alexei Maximovich Peshkov) (1868–1936) was one the world’s most significant and renowned Russian writers and theorists. His most famous works were Foma Gordeyev, The Mother, The Artamonov Business, Enemies, The Philistines, The Lower Depths, Summerfolk, Vassa Zheleznova, Life of Klim Samgin, etc.

The souvenir sheet depicts a portrait of Maxim Gorky (1940) by Nikolai Bogdanov-Belsky stored at A.M. Gorky Institute of the World Literature of the Russian Academy of Science.

In addition to the souvenir sheet, an FDC is to be produced together with special cancellation postmarks for Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod as well as a souvenir set in an illustrated cover with a souvenir sheet and FDC with cancellation for Moscow inside.
