For most Russian citizens New Year is a major family celebration, and its festive customs and traditions are handed down from generation to generation. The New Year has been celebrated on 1 January since 1700 by a Decree of Peter the Great. The celebration has a special value for everyone.
That is why the New Year 2018 symbol, apart from the New Year tree, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, is Zabivaka™ the wolf chosen as the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Mascot.
The stamps feature the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Mascot – Zabivaka™ the wolf in three different postures against the New Year background.

December 4, three postage stamps dedicated to Sergey Alexeyev, Ivan Dmitriev and Nikolai Korkunov to be put into circulation in the “Outstanding Russian Lawyers” series
Sergey Sergeyevich Alexeyev (1924–2013) was a law theorist and civilist, an author of the RF Constitution of the Russian Federation.
Nikolai Mikhailovich Korkunov (1853–1904) was a scientist, law philosopher, a leading authority on legal sociology.
Ivan Ivanovich Dmitriev (1760–1837) was a statesman, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Russian Empire in 1810–1814, a Russian writer and fabulist.
The postage stamps feature the portraits of the outstanding Russian lawyers and the pillar of law.

The Federal Treasury was established by the Russian President’s decree in 1992. Today the Federal Treasury (Treasury of Russia) is a federal executive authority that carries out law enforcement functions to ensure the execution of the federal budget and cash service of the budgetary system of the Russian Federation, preliminary and ongoing control over operations with federal budget funds by main administrators and recipients of the federal budget. The Treasury has 83 departments and 2254 divisions and is supervised by the RF Ministry of Finance.
The postage stamp depicts the building and emblem of the Federal Treasury.

Over the first two years of the Great Patriotic War the USSR suffered most severe hardship. The national unity of solders and home front workers, their strong faith in the Victory became the major force that stood in the way of the Nazi invaders. The Red Army and the USSR Navy together with the whole nation showed genuine courage and selflessness in fight for the Motherland.
The booklet consists of 4 postage stamps dedicated to the Arctic Convoys, Normandie-Neiman Regiment, the Battle for the Crimea and Defence of Sevastopol, and the Soviet Partisan Movement issued in 2017.

Football is comprehensively represented in Russian art. Not only did artists and sculptors depict scenes from a game but also elements of outfit, fans and stadiums.
In the 20
th century, the principles of portrayal a human were connected with the concept of a harmonious man and patriotic upbringing. The ideas of conquering space and time and the task of training a physically developed man were pivotal in painting.

The Diamond Fund of Russia forms a part of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Russian Federation. The fund houses one of the most renowned and largest collections of unique precious stones, noble metals and pieces of jewelry art, which have great historic, artistic, scientific and material value.
The booklet includes 4 postage stamps made with raised impression that feature the treasures of Russia’s Diamond Fund: the Orlov diamond, the Russian globus cruciger, emerald brooch and pendant with a magenta-pink tourmaline.

December 18, a joint postage stamp issue dedicated to architecture between the Russian Federation and the Democratic Social Republic of Sri Lanka to be put into circulation
A bilateral relationship between the two countries was established on 19 February 1957. In the 1960s the states signed bilateral agreements in the field of trade, economic cooperation, science, technology, education and culture. Sri Lanka is becoming a popular tourist resort among Russian travellers. About 70 000 tourists from Russia have come to visit Sri Lanka over the last years.
The postage stamps depict Bakhchisaray Assumption Monastery and the Golden Temple of Dambulla.

December 19, a postage stamp to be put into circulation dedicated to Yevgeny Primakov, a Russian statesman
Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov was an outstanding statesman and a public figure, diplomat, member of the USSR Academy of Science, winner of state awards, recipient of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland.
He kept leading positions throughout his life, his name is associated with Russia’s transition to a multi-vector foreign policy, political stabilization in the country and positive economic changes. He was a leading national orientalist, prominent scientist in global economy and international relations, theory and practice of international conflict resolution, study of the world civilizational process, global concerns, social and economic problems of developing countries.

December 20, a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national security agencies to be put into circulation
The history of the Russian security agencies started on 20 December 1917 года when following a decree by the Council of People’s Commissars, the All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, Speculation and Sabotage (also known as the Cheka) was set up and headed by Felix Dzerzhinsky.
The contemporary history of the security agencies in Russia began on 3 April 1995 when RF President Boris Yeltsin signed a Law on Agencies of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. The agencies of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation are responsible for counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism, crime fighting, intelligence and border guard activities, information security. The President of the Russian Federation is constitutionally in charge for the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
The postage stamp features a shield and a sword in a garland emblematic of the national security agencies.

December 20, an envelope with a commemorative stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Dmity Glinka, a twice Hero of the Soviet Union, to be put into circulation in the series “The 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945”
Dmitry Borisovich Glinka (1917–1979) was a Soviet fighter pilot, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, guards colonel.
He was twice awarded the Gold Star Medal of Hero of the Soviet Union, the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of Red Star, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st class.
The envelope depicts the emblem of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 on the commemorative stamp; the main image is a portrait of Dmitry Glinka against a fighter aircraft and the Gold Star Medal.

December 25, a stamp booklet “FIFA 2018 World Cup Russia™. Stadiums” is to be put into circulation
The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ is the 21
st FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. 11 Russian cities will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Ekaterinburg.
The booklet includes 12 postage stamps featuring the tournament stadiums: Volgograd Arena, Ekaterinburg Arena, Kazan Arena, Kaliningrad Arena, Luzhniki Stadium, Spartak Stadium, Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Rostov Arena, Samara Arena, Saint Petersburg Stadium, Mordovia Arena, Fischt Stadium. The stamps were issued into circulation in 2015–2017.
